Welcome

The PhD program in Bioengineering and Robotics of the Università degli Studi di Genova is based on a joint partnership among the Università degli Studi di Genova, Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia/Italian Institute of Technology Foundation and the University of Cagliari.

Research in Bioengineering and Robotics at the Università degli Studi di Genova dates back to the 80’s and originates from convergence of multi-disciplinary activities in the fields of automation, electronics, information technologies and biophysics.

Research activity in the field of Bioengineering has a long tradition of scientific excellence at the Università degli Studi di Genova. Since 1982, the University of Genova has been participating to PhD programs of Bioengineering, and a local PhD program in Bioengineering was first established in 1999.

A PhD program in Robotics was established in 1991, later integrated with the PhD programs in Electronics and Computer Engineering.

The PhD program in Bioengineering and Robotics of the Università degli Studi di Genova is leading edge in education and research, covering multi-disciplinary scientific and technological domains from advanced robotics, to biomedical engineering, to humanoid and interactive technologies and applications.
